If you have gout, you’ll probably feel swelling and pain in the joints of your foot, especially around the big toe. You can also get gout in your hands as well. The pain will feel like your hands or feet are burning from the inside out. It’s intense but using a TENS unit can provide you with some pain relief.

So you will want to use electrode pads that are smaller than you would typically use in order to target the pain better. I get mine from iReliev here. As you can see in the picture place the electrode pads around the pain that you are experiencing.

If you happen to have gout pain in your hands a TENS unit can also help alleviate the pain. Here you want to also surround the pain with the electrode pads and keep them at least 1/2 inch apart.

TENS UnitI have extensively used TENS units for neck, shoulder, back and knee issues and became familiar with TENS therapy through countless visits to my chiropractor and physical therapist’s office. I have spent many hours researching and reading how TENS therapy can alleviate pain.
